KNUST Academic Calendar Revised, No Graduation For Master’s Degrees, 1st Semester Exams to be held in Jan. ’19

uthorities of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) after Academic Board meeting held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 have revised the original calendar for the 2018/19 academic year.

This has become necessary due to the unexpected closure of the institution as a result of recent impasse according to the university Relations officer, mr. Kwame Yeboah Jnr.

”The academic board met later in the day and the main item on the agenda for the meeting was the academic calendar that has been distorted.”
The new changes will enable an already missed mid semester exams by both undergraduates and post graduate students be written concurrently with lecture period from Monday 19th November to 19th December for Students to break for Christmas holidays. End of first semester exams will be written in January 2019.

Chairman of the academic board, Prof. Kwesi Obiri Danso has asked all Departments, Faculties and colleges examination officers to hold a meeting to see how best they can arrange for the mid semester exams to be written for purposes of effectively assessing students’ for the academic year.

The institution’s original schedules for the 2018/2019 academic year did not materialize due spiral of agitations by students which led into a full-blown violence resulting in the closure of the university on October 22, 2018.
