KNUST like all other academic institutions in Ghana had been silent on plans for the 2020/2021 Academic year. A document detailing the schedule for the 2020/ 2021 academic year activities has been making rounds on social media today.

The document details out the activities of the next academic year. It starts off with the virtual investiture of the new VC of the University, Prof. Mrs Rita Akosua Dickson. It also spells out detailed dates for the consideration of supplementary exams results and a virtual congregation on September 11, 2020 and September 12, 2020.

The document also states the date for the return of continuing students as October 31, 2020. Per the document, the first semester for the next academic year may see an extension into the first quarter of 2021.

Freshers are also expected on campus by February 8, 2021; this is however tentative and contingent on how things unravel in the course of the semester.

The first semester is expected to end on Friday, March 12, 2021; this is also tentative. The document also makes available March 27, 2020 as the day for the return of students for the second semester with curtains being drawn on the second semester on July 17, 2021.

The document is titled Proposed Academic Calendar for Remaining of 2019/2020 and 2020/ 2021 Academic Years. Thus, it is awaiting an official declaration from the University’s outfit to be confirmed as true or not.
