There are a lot of people who have no idea about the existence of KNUST’s satellite campus in Obuasi.
It is quite understandable since it’s official launch was in September, 2019. The idea behind setting up a satellite campus in Obuasi is to enhance the accessibility of tertiary education for the residents of Obuasi and its environs.
Setting up a campus will definitely give rise to accommodation needs hence, a number of entrepreneurs have taken it upon themselves to provide affordable accommodation for the students. There are a number of hostels and apartments in and around Obuasi but this one catches the eyes of many: Lemez hostel. It is situated in New Biakoyeden close to the Obuasi Satellite campus. Lemez hostel is an ultra modern facility with self-contained rooms for 2 or 3 occupants, a cafeteria, fun center’s and study/rest areas. It is a fully air conditioned facility with a big compound.
Starting with only a three-storey building, Lemez now boasts of 2 three-storey buildings and a four-storey building with in-built provision shops. There is also a mobile money center for students to carry out mobile money transactions. No wonder it has been adjudged the largest hostel in Obuasi. More rooms have been made available to cater for the ever-increasing student population.
Lemez has been likened to the GUSSS hostel (Hall 7) on the main campus and therefore labeled as one of the elites. All these go a long way to show how comfortable and excited you will be as a resident in such a wonderful hostel.
