KNUST students representative council (SRC) has on Monday, May 24 hinted the coming of the long awaited 5GB data package for students.
Earlier today, media reports referenced the SRC of making bold statements of the incoming data package.
Amongst these indications are the artwork by the SRC with a 5GB lead, asking students to exercise patience as it comes the next day.
The initial announcement came on March 13, 2021, at the launch of the KNUST SRC‘s 60th Anniversary.
Students in the KNUST University Community in 2014 received a monthly package of approximately three hundred (300) MB with some call time a long time ago.
Following that, it was increased to 500 MB with some call time.
In 2016, the bundle package was expanded to include 1GB/1024MB of storage space, 100 minutes of talk time, and an SMS bundle. The bundle package came as a relief to students, particularly those who had difficulty purchasing data for academic purposes.
It became extremely useful because it made internet access extremely convenient for all students.
However, in 2019, it was increased from 1GB to 2GB. This was significant because students found it easier to learn and access study files online, as well as for other purposes.
