Frequent change in coaches made us struggle in the league – King Faisal captain, Kwame Peprah

Captain and star man for King Faisal FC, Kwame Peprah has attributed the woes of the team in the just ended Ghana Premier League to the frequent change of coaches in the season.

King Faisal ended the season with a goalless draw against Liberty Professionals to escape relegation on the final matchday of the season.

Speaking to UniversSports, he said that playing under numerous coaches during the season was a factor for their struggling performance.

He said that “it was a factor because every coach came in with his own style of play and playing under a new coach was like starting a new season and each player had to justify himself to get playing time.”

The Inshaallau boys were led by four coaches throughout the season.

Serbian coach, Slavisa Bozicic started the season but was shown the exit door in December 2020 due to poor performances after twenty games.

The 55-year-old lost 12, won 1 and drew 7 gams.

Andy Sinasson took over the management of the club in January 2021 but resigned in March.

Turkish trainer, Kasim Gokyildiz, 55, was appointed on 25th March but would resign 3 months later.

Assistant coach, Nurudeen Amadu finished the season.

Kwame Peprah was the season’s top goal scorer for King Faisal with twelve (12) goals and provided ten (10) assists winning seven (7) Man Of The Match awards.

He is also lined up for a move to Orlando Pirates in South Africa.
