Citizens all over the country are embarking on the “Green Ghana Project” today geared towards planting five million trees across the country to restore our depleted forests.
Our spotlight is on Bismark Ansah; Youth Wing Secretary of the New Patriotic Party in the Manhyia North Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
A student of the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Bismark joined faculties and students of the institution’s School of Natural Resources to plant trees at selected areas on campus.
In an interview with hypercitigh.com and idea360ghana, the Petroleum Engineering student indicated that his commitment to the course was inspired by President Nana Addo Danqua Akufo-Addo’s admonition to all Ghanaians to partake in the exercise and his interest in playing a quota to development agenda of Ghana.
Members of the Youth Wing of the Manhyia North Constituency were charged to act as ambassadors of the national exercise in support of the ministry and state agency responsible: Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and Forestry Commission respectively.
The “Let’s go planting” campaign was embraced by political parties, NGOs, religious bodies civil society organisations and schools .
