GIJ migrates academic work onto virtual space

Management of GIJ has announced its decision to migrate to an online teaching and learning effective Monday, January 25, 2021.

This initiative according to management is to ensure the safety of the students.

The decision comes on the back of several complaints by students and lecturers with the major been the congestion in lecture halls.

In a statement issued by the Public Affairs Unit on the 22nd of January, 2021, lecturing will continue online via the Learning Management System (LMS).

According to the unit, lectures will take place via LMS effective Monday, January 25, 2021, for continuing students and February 1, 2021for first year students.

“Effective January 25, 2021, lectures for continuing students will take place online via the Learning Management System of the institute. First year students, including Level 300Top-up students will migrate to online studies after the third week of face-to-face teaching effective February 1, 2021″ the statement indicated.

The Learning Management System is a digital platform designed by the institute to aid students and lecturers in online learning and teaching.
