WAEC ends 2021 BECE private registration

The 2021 BECE private registration which started on January 11, 2021, for students who are 16 years and above and candidates who had previously sat for the BECE but could not pass has ended today Monday, March 1, 2021.

A staff of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has told Educationweb.com.gh his outfit at a later date will commence another registration (late registration) despite the normal period has ended.

WAEC has said students who had previously sat for the normal Basic Education Certificate Education but were not successful are to provide the index number for the last sitting and the year of the examination.

The Council in a blog post sighted by Educationweb.com.gh indicated the 2021 BECE private registration will strictly be done online adding that “first-time sitters are to provide the date of birth during the registration”.

The following are the subjects available to candidates:

  • English Language
  • Ghanaian Language and Culture
  • Social Studies
  • Integrated Science
  • Mathematics
  • Basic Design and Technology
  • Religious & Moral Education
  • Information and Communications Technology
  • French (optional)

The 2021 edition of the BECE for private Candidates examination would be conducted in ten regional capitals of the country in April 12 this year.
