📍THE CHALLENGE OF OUR TIME !.
The major challenge of our time in this university is how to ensure “accountability and transparency ” by student politicians,
the depth and intensity of this challenge is evident now making our university not safer anymore for democracy .
We are living through a dark period where “delegitimization of our politics ” is real such that many of us especially first years will see no importance of joining a queue to elect student politicians as leaders. We believe that student politicians have not forgotten that “Representation essentially denotes trusteeship and means acting in the best interest of those represented in a manner responsive to them”. Whether the above has been realized, your guess will be good as ours.
University men and women, the success of our work at KSA demands that we take the good people of this university into confidence at all times with our views, stating them clearly , very politely and making them open as always.

At the stroke of this ungodly hour, when the views of the grassroots have been neglected, where many Campus media groups have been silenced, where political writers cannot write again, where student politicians have forgotten that without the voice of those who gave them power, universities serve no purpose, it is at this moment where Knust Student Activists will awake to life, its core values and freedom.
Ladies and gentlemen , we wish we questioned why college presidents were silence on their petition sent to the vice chancellor over centralization of all accounts to the general public. Again, It is worth pointing out that there has been an absolute silence on the part of financial secretaries whether the “benefits of consolidated accounts outweighs the loss” to the general public .
Does it mean we exist in the things that we hide ? .
Time and again, student administration is far away from the very people who belongs to these associations .
The poor level of communication between leaders and members of these associations .
Would a budget be made known after a parliament/senate established without the grassroots opinion ?.
They say “EQUAL RIGHTS”, in it’s proper meaning equal rights means the right for all to participate in the making of new laws by which one is governed, a constitution which guarantees democratic rights to all sections of students under a college , the right to take part in the decision making of an administration.
University men and women , in the absence of these safeguards, the phrase “equal rights ” in so far as it is intended is “meaningless and misleading”.
Today all rights and privileges to which we have referred are monopolized by a section at the top and the grassroot enjoys none.
They make all laws for their “parliament /senate “, they drag the “family and friends” before them as audience during a sitting , accuses the grassroot and sits in their own parliament to approve an unknown budget for the grassroots.
Let the prophet be honoured and respected in his own land?
What do we as student politicians want the grassroot to see us;..
As Presidents and general secretaries being members of a senate/parliament? , or as student politicians who made provisions for the grassroot to elect independent members from their own classes as parliamentarians ?.
Ladies and gentlemen, “Power does not Corrupt. Fear corrupts perhaps the fear of a loss of power. Power attracts the worse and corrupts the best”.
Activists’ learn to have patience to listen when people put forward their views, even if they think those views are wrong. We always want to reach a just decision so we listen to both sides
